Orange County TX Fishing

Reports from the southern regions are bustling with exceptional fishing experiences. Orange County News reports successful fishing in all it's areas, with concentration on black bass and crappie. They also mention that crank baits and spinner baits are the most popular for the bass, and plastics have shown dominance on crappie.

Typically, for the past year or so, those types of lures have been nothing short of dominant in their respective fields for those species. Knowing that, it seems that winter has had little effect in the southern region. Perhaps the natural food source is not as easily affected by the shift in climate. Or, just possibly, the climate is working well for the fishermen, and the bite is better than normal.

One thing hasn't changed tho, and thats exactly where to drop your lures. Cover is a fish's best friend, and even in winter time, that statement holds firm.

Question -
If you're from the south, do you stick with the same baits in winter as the other prime fishing months?
Do you stick to the same baits, but change color?
