Utah Fishing

The Desert News published a healthy report on winter fishing in the Salt Lake City region. It appears that the cold weather has had great effect on the fishing as bass, trout, and other species are going deep and dormant. Winter patterns are working only in some cases. Fishing has been reported as slow to fair.

Furthermore, while there is much ice available on several lakes and rivers, travel on these bodies of water is NOT advised. More time will be needed to completely freeze waters in some areas.

Looks like anglers will have to wait for the fish to get desperate, and the water to freeze before any serious catching takes place for die hard winter-time anglers. If you're from that area, be sure to read their article for a list of fishing holes near you, and the conditions surrounding them.
