Winter Walleye Ice Fishing

Jason Mitchell has an excellent article about winter fishing for walleye concerning equipment noise and lures. Interestingly enough, later in the article he explains that it's more important to consistently use fresh bait, rather than changing lures. Should this be true, then one might consider bringing a healthy supply of minnows during ice fishing adventures, rather than a large quantity of fishing lures such as jigs.

He also noted how the winter can have an adverse affect on walleyes primary food supply by pointing out that the noise from boat motors and other equipment rarely alter the course of these popular fish.

Question -
Do you change tactics during your winter time fishing?
Do these tidbits of info hold true for multiple other species?
